Repeiter Host
Another idea software is Repeiter Host. Firstly you can download the software on repetier.com and install it to your computer simply following the instruction. Secondly you need to make simple setting for the software as below: 1. Click the button( printer settings) on the top right corner; 2. And Baud Rate for M508 is 250000 3. Open the STL and GCODE file you have and make slicing with clicking button (slicer ---slice with curaengine) same on right column. You can adjust the size or other aspect of object as you liked. 4. Then get to start the printing by connecting to the computer.
Driver
You will get the device driver from the SD Card also coming with your printer kit. There is two driver respectively compatible with the MAC and WIN system, which will provide the best choice for the correct driver suited with your computer. And you just need to connect the SD card to your computer and click the driver software and it would only take few minutes to be installed automatically.
Test Printing Files
Here is test printing file also enclosed in your SD Card which has been sliced and can be quick and directly printed with inserting the SD card into your assembled printer. This Gcode file changed from the original STL file is a great design with showing various kinds of printing form and you will need not to search for the exact file to make a test on the printing effect by your new DIY 3D printer.

  2. I purchased th3 Alunar 505 3d Printer and the sd card provided had two empty directories on it and I have no printer drivers. I cannot use my printer without drivers. If you click on the driver tab on this web site it only displays a blank page.

  3. When I hit “Home All”, the left/right motor goes left all the way to the endstop and keeps going left for another 3 seconds or so. The up/down down to the end stop and is fine. The forward/Back does not move the bed.

    When I go to print something, everything moves, but the prints are printing on the very edge of the bed, instead of in the middle.

    Please help or I will return it as defective.

  4. Just purchased an Alunar M505 3D Printer Kit. During my pre-assembly check of the electronics I found that the X Motor does not spin. As both the X and Y motors are the same part numbers (SL42STH38-1004A), I switched the wires on the controller side and re-ran the positioning tests. The problem is now seen during Y motor positioning. This leads me to believe that the controller is good and the problem is with the motor itself.

    The motor does make some sounds but does not turn as though it is seized up.

  5. I’ve had the printer and have been tinkering with it for a little over a week. Suddenly, my bed stopped heating and will no longer heat. I checked everything I could and saw no problems or differences than when it was working. Also, I lost the install and preloaded files that came on the SD card, is there a way I could get those again?

  6. Hi my name is Young and I recently bought a Alunar 3d printer M505 model on Amazon. I tried to do pre-setups like the video on youtube through the link you posted – https://youtu.be/HzoM_CGNKes ;
    During the preset, I found out the capacitors in the power supply were ruined. I followed the instruction and all of the sudden I smelled something is weired and it was the smell of the capacitor liquid.

    I saw the liquid was comming out from the capacitors and it was boiling. I guess there was a short caused by solding process. Because I could see some ball shaped left over solders on the circuit board. 
    I really need to assemble the printer and I was excited about it. But the power supply distroyed everything.

  7. Hello. I have recently purchased the ALUNAR 3D Printer M505 from Amazon and I started putting it together and found out that instead of having two Z-motors I had one X-motor and one Y-motor. I really wanted to put this whole thing together today but now I am delayed because of it. There are two extra motors that would run with belts, one extra X-motor and one extra Y-motor. The two Z-motors that I need should have adapters on the ends that you put a rod into and clamp down on, but I do not have those adapters on the motors. Only belt motors. I am hoping that I can obtain new parts for this machine as soon as possible.

  8. Hello, I am assembling the M505. Step 3: my y axis motor has no thread on 3 of the 4 attachment holes. Also, the motor is coated in oil soaking the label but the other ones are clean – that’s how I know it’s the Y axis motor. Also – the printed instructions show quantity 3 of the M3*12 screw but the video clearly shows 4 – the video makes sense. Can you send me a new motor please? Thanks

Moreover, some kind of protected oil may be added to motors when manufacturing. Such oil will have no influence on the motor’s performance.   9. I have sent two messages to your customer service concerning the frame for my M505 printer I ordered from Amazon. The frame pieces were cut uneven and so the printer frame is not straight.   10. Hello Alunar, i have the M505 model.
    The heater for the filament seams to be going bad.
    I don’t know if it is the heater or the control electronics.
    Can i get purchase extra parts to see which part fixing the problem?

    So what happen is it will start off working fine, it will print a few mm high of a small part
    ~20x20mm and then the temp will start cooling down and then it is printing in the air.
    I have checked the cables and setting, nothing has changed since when it was working fine.

    I am thinking the transistor or power FET is going bad.
    Looking forward to hearing from you, this is my second try to contact you.

  12. Hi, I clogged my hot end including the nozzle and long screw with plastic inside. The abs appeared to mix with pla and with my attempts to clean it became worse and worse. Do you have any recommendations for replacement parts?

      UG、Solidworks、CAD、3DMAX、maya
      Pro/Engineer
      and so on

      Save the file to STL.
      Then you can use CURA Retier-host to slice and save as Gcode to print by the printer.

  15. One thing to keep an eye out for: the extruder temperature probe can come out of the extruder block. My print quality took a drastic turn for the worse, with pitting, bubbling, scorching, steam, stronger odor, etc. At first I thought my filament was just damp, but the issues persisted even with a freshly unsealed roll of filament. Closer inspection revealed that the group of wires to the extruder had shifted, and with the way the probe is taped on to the heating element wires, it had pulled the probe most of the way out of the heating element. I shifted the probe back into place, and my print quality went back to normal.

  16. My new M505 has been having issues. I put the frame together properly and my wiring seems correct — the LCD lights up and I have no problem navigating the controls, and the first time I tried to “Home All” the printer only my X axis moved. Now when I try to “Home All” or position any of the axes none of them move, including the X, though the motors make noise as though they’re trying to work. I’m not sure if something is wrong with my motors or the board itself but I’ve been messing with this for weeks and nothing is working to get the axes to move.

  18. I bought my Alunar M505 about two months ago and randomly after I tried plugging in my printer again the lcd stopped working. It only showed white blocks on the lcd, then after a couple of minutes it displayed a bunch of random characters.
    I have tried contacting Alunar (Grace) through skype and email, but I am getting no responses and it has been over a week of me constantly sending messages; as well as calling the skype but receiving no response.

    I am extremely dissatisfied with the poor customer service for my product. Hopefully this message will bring my problem to their attention.

  19. My Y motors are having troubles. When I click print the right motor goes up a lot and the left motor goes up just a little bit. The right motor appears to be trying to compensate for it. And the y motors won’t go up by them selves so I have to raise them manually. What should I do

  21. When I try the bed leveling wizard in Cura with my M505 — the Down -0.2mm button moves UP, and the Up -0.2mm button moves DOWN. This is opposite. What should I try to fix this? Cura 15.04.6 on an iMAC.

  28. I received my M505 printer from Ecube 3D through Amazon.com, Order #
    116-0957967-7542653
    The Hot Bed Aluminum Frame had one bed leveling screw hole that was apparently not
    tapped for 3mm threads. The screw got stuck in the hole, so I had to force it
    out and replace it with a spare. The hole now is too big now, so the wing nut
    is all that holds the screw in place. This will work fine for the time being,
    but I need a replacement Print Bed H-frame. Also, there were no files of any value to me on the micro SD card, everything was in Chinese. There was no Cura, no driver and the G-Code files were not sliced correctly. I have downloaded and installed Cura, but the driver you link to on this page will not install after extracting. Please advise.

  29. hi, i bought this printer about two months ago, im very happy with it, i have printed parts up to 0.06mm layer height with great results! recently i have a problem with the nozzle that i couldnt fix, it was clogged, someone told me that overheated plastic inside sometimes its hard to clean, but the replacement was cheap, so problem solved, now i hear noises that i cant figure out, how can i maintain the machine properly? what to clean? what to tight? which part is more likely to break or need to replace?

    Two days ago, I got a reply from Grace about my issue and provided my order number and store. She said she would mail my replacement part to my address (which I had also provided). This was great customer service and I was happy about your response to my concerns.

    Last night, I received a much more abrupt email asking for what store I purchased the printer as you could not find my order number. My email very clearly stated Amazon.com next to the order number. Plus, if Grace has already processed the replacement and accepted my order number one day ago, why am I receiving another email that takes the whole process back? I am concerned now.

  31. Hi, I ordered an M505 printer from you. I just put it together, inserted the filiment, ensured that all the motors were working, homed the axis, and reheated the bed. but when I try to print a gcode test file, it shows 1%or 3% for half a second then goes to idle. how can i fix this?

  34. Hello. I have a defective piece in my M505. The H-shaped metal bracket under the heat bed is defective. One of the holes is too small. I managed to screw the screw in and now it will neither go in further nor come out. The other 3 screw holes were fine. I took the heat bed off and tried to fix this, but no luck. I will need another H-shaped bracket and a new screw.

    Please help. I can’t even use my new printer until this issue is fixed. I do not want to regret owning an ALUNAR so I would appreciate your quick assistance.

  35. Hello! I recently purchased an Alunar M505 3D Printer off Amazon and have been assembling it over the past few days. I have had no problems up until this point except now the extruder won’t heat up when I choose the PLA Preheat option. The hotbed heats up easily but the extruder just hovers around room temperature (23-26 degrees). I’ve checked all the connections and everything appears to be connected correctly. I’m just not quite sure what to do next.

      1. I believe I understand what is wrong. When I removed the tape from the thermistor, the thermistor popped out of the hot end as if it were never connected. Additionally, when I ran the preheat PLA option the thermistor end never warmed, leading me to believe I have a faulty thermistor. Would it be possible to order another thermistor/nozzle? I’ve found some off brand thermistors online that I believe could work but I would rather order from Alunar itself. This would be for the M505 model NOT the M506 model.

  39. I assembled the M505 and attempted to make my first test print. The SD card was corrupt so I formatted it and downloaded the the test file from your website. I inserted the SD card into the printer, preheated for PLA and when the temp reached 190 C, I selected the test file and selected print. The screen flashed “Printing____ 0%” before switching back to “Preheating PLA”. Eventually, the message switches to “stepper disabled”. What am I doing wrong? Why won’t the file print?

    1. I downloaded an STL file off the Internet and tried printing that but it did not work. The extruder is heating up (I can push the filament through and it comes out stringy). When I tried printing the new STL file, it says “Idle” on the screen.

  43. Hi, I just got my printer together and I have tried printing a couple different test files from the sd card and it will go through the motions like it is printing but no filament comes out. I have pushed the filament so that it is in the nozzle. I can even do it manually from the screen. But when I print nothing comes out. Thanks in advance.

      1.pls set the nozzle temperature of nozzle to 230 degree, and push the filament inside the barrel tube, to see if the filament comes out by string
      2.pls check the golden gear if it is loose? the screw to fix the gear there are round and square side,
      pls fix the gear by screws on the flat side, so that the gear will not slide and tight to let the filament go through inside the barrel tube

      But sorry for the inconvenience. There may some causes:

      a)Please kindly check the temperature (the preheat temperature should be 230 degree)
      b)Please kindly check the temperature of nozzle to see whether it reach to 200 degree.(Note:Don’t Use hand to touch the nozzle when it working)
      you can use one piece of filament touch the nozzle before pushing it.
      C)Please kindly check the nozzle if it is blocking.

  45. Hi. I have just completed building my M505 and have installed the Cura software. I cannot see the Alunar M505 printer listed in the cura printer list so I had selected the prusa i3. When I activate it, it says that it isn’t connected, yet the drivers are installed as far as I am aware, and when the USB lead is plugged in, My computer recognises it. I am using windows 10 64 bit

        I have now been able to connect to the printer. The printing is stringy however and am endeavouring to find out why in the instructions. I am also looking to fit a LJ18A3-8-Z/BX 8mm Approach Sensor NPN NO Switch DC 6-36V to auto level the hotbed. How would I go about fitting it ?

          The reason maybe:
          1.the filament quality
          2. the temperature setting, no need too high, about 195-200 for pla is ok
          3.the printing speed, too fast will be stringy
          4.the cura setting, you need set the retraction, and proper speed and length for retraction

  46. Just got my printer together and trying to print out a STL that came with it. It shows printing up through 100 percent, but nothing moves or prints.

    I just ordered and put together my m505 model. I have gotten to the point of printing and when I try to print the test model it doesn’t work. I think it has something to do with the extruder motor and the gear reading it. Everything works and is tightened. The gear does not grip the filament and push it into the hot end. Any tips or solutions would greatly be appreciated

  48. My printer had been operating fine and I went to print a part and the lcd screen displayed garbage and the extruder would not extrude filament. I have trouble shot per everything I can find on the internet, and believe the microcontroller board has failed. Where can I order a new one?

  49. For the M505 3d printer, Step 3 shows that there is a black plastic piece in the shape of an “H”, the one you sent us is an “H” metal piece and the holes are not the same as the one in the video.
